Reem Yateem | Founder / Teacher
Reem Yateem is a graduate of the University of California, Davis where she has acquired her Bachelor’s of Science Degree, Teaching Credential, and Masters in inquiry with an emphasis on restorative practices.
Reem has worked in the educational field for 10+ years in a variety of settings with a wide age range of students.
While attending UC Davis Reem has become an outdoor enthusiast.
She has found a passion for being outdoors, growing food, and learning about the plants, insects, mycelium and the complicated underground communication network humans cannot see with their naked eye.
Once Reem found permaculture she grew eager to connect her knowledge and passion in education with her love for the outdoors. Reem earned a degree as a Permaculture Design Consultant from Oregon University. Reem is a strong believer that education provides independence and power and is the the base level to success in any country.
Her mission is to inspire others to appreciate and take care of the world we live in.
Fatima Al Shaker | Teacher
Fatema AlShakar has an undergraduate degree in Art Therapy with a focus on children from the University of Tampa. For the past 8 years her teaching experience varied from working in a school for autism, to therapeutic centers. Fatema recently held a position in Nadeen School as an Academic Teachers Assistant.
Fatema believes that art is a fun and creative process that can be utilized as a great coping tool. It can be a form of communication, expression, and also a great way of exploring oneself. Using a holistic approach, Fatema’s goal is to teach children the importance of art and creativity and its positive effect it has on our wellbeing.
Fatema also initiated Art Nafsi, an art as therapy class. She provides guided art sessions that can help one relax, deal with stress and emotions, gain self-confidence, learn new coping skills, and more! A Self-care process through the creation of art. Together, Fatema and Reem created a Learn To Grow X Art Nafsi collaboration that invites teens to join us once a week to do art as therapy in and with nature.
